A Futon and A Desk

That's all the big stuff I have left. I ran out of energy around 4p. Eventhough I technically didn't do any heavy lifting. I guess just the heat and the mental effort.

But Internet Lady did end up showing up here around 3:15 and they were out by 4p. Which is great. Because of that, I had a couple other buyers of things show up at 3p as well.

I had a long call so I was able to go through my list of items I wanted out of the kitchen. So I'm technically a bit ahead.

Instead of spending a 3 hour block packing tomorrow, I will try to work on my deliverable. And then resume duties on Thursday.

It will be fairly easy for me to be out of here by next weekend. I'm already getting achy on the futon, but I should be able to survive.

All in all a pretty good and productive day. I can't believe I'm almost done. Wow!

Some dilemmas

- I'm not sure all this stuff is going to fit in my car; so I'm mentally preparing to have to mail my 3 bins since they are the easiest things to ship. That should hopefully not be more than $200. If I could finagle it somehow, maybe I could take Southwest and move in the same day when I go visit Newtown and hunt for apartments. We shall see.

- A tale of 2 pots. I didn't realize I had a whole new set of pots. That I never really used. But I have the rag tag bunch of pots that I do use. And I don't really want to let go of the medium pot and small frying pan because they are so darn durable. And I don't know what to make of the new pots. They are Food Network brand and a bit heavier. I know at the end of 12 months my life will be even more nomadic and minimal so I'll likely prefer just my trusty medium pot and frying pan. But since I own these new pots, I'd like to use them. For now, if there's space, I'd like to carry trusty pot and pan with me.

That's pretty much it. Bedding is taking up a lot of space. I tried the space bag as my brilliant idea but my vacuum has lost suction and I have no desire to clean out a vacuum. So, it looks like vacuum is being sent to donation pile or trash.

So on Thursday, I'm going to have a spillover errand day since...moving. I need to follow-up with the donation pickup and do something else now I can't remember.

But by Tuesday of next week, I want to do a trash pickup around the house. Ideally, if I could have everything buttoned up by Thursday, that would be nice, but that's too much pressure. I think Thursday, I just want to clear out the kitchen or something. Definitely run the dishwasher. But by Thursday, I'll have 10 days left in this house, so that will be a nice countdown.

I was so worn out, I took a rinse off and just kind of have been resting since I heated up the last of the rice and the fish I fried right before someone picked up the fryer.

All in all, though, I feel really good. There is a slim chance I may have to make 2 trips to get my stuff to Interim Housing. But we shall see. I'm actually excited to trim down my stuff in a year. I think I can very well get down to just 3 bins, a file box, and a memory box.

Oh! I know the other dilemma. It's my computer. I originally hoped to transport my work equipment in my laundry basket. But as we are near the end of packing, I've lost energy for taking any more than I have to. So, I'm contemplating getting rid of the extra 2 monitors and seeing if I can order one large monitor and use that as 2 screens next year. Well, the real question isn't if I can, but whether I can get work to pay for it. I'm concerned about shipping it to a new address when I don't plan on updating my address until January. Not having to transport 2 monitors will definitely help.

I have to say, I'm not looking forward in the least to buying stuff to setup home again in the Fall. But at least there's a timeframe so maybe that will help make my decision making easier. I do want to be careful not to skimp though. I want to be comfy and convenient and easy. Just not permanent.

So yeah... I'll be bunking in what was my home office for the next 2 weeks.

Highlighting some wins:

- Getting the washer and dryer out with no major issues; just a few scuff marks. BIG WIN!

- Went to see an orthopedist and I just need physical therapy. Yay, this was not that concerning, but it was the kick I needed to start physical therapy. I think I can commit to the 2x/wk x 6 weeks he recommended. That will give me something to do over the summer. Let's just see if the PT place calls. I'm prepared to call them, but likely will wait until I reach Interim Housing, although earlier might be better. But since I don't have a place picked out yet, it'll be tough to know which location is easiest to get to!

So it was mostly a full day of Mental Exertion.
