Sep 20, 2022, The Game Of Life

So it's Tuesday and I feel good. Just round up.

I finished work a little late today. By the time I turned around it was already 6p my time. My body was aching for me to go outdoors. It's a sunny 75 degrees today in Seattle, so I told myself just go for a walk for 30 minutes. I was just going to wander up a street for a 15 minutes and back down. Even set a timer.

I started walking and remembered I wanted to check out the Ben and Jerry's. It was a little farther than I thought and I ended up walking over a mile. Yay!

I do have a rooftop deck but it's not nearly as impressive as that of the place I stayed downtown. The view is there but you can't see it if you're sitting, so that's less fun. And the seating is kind of bleh.

So the Ben and Jerry's did have a non-dairy flavor I hadn't tried before so I got that in a waffle cone, $10.

I really should get my life together to do spending diaries. We shall see.

Accomplishments:

- Brushed my teeth

- Worked on document

- Corrected some references

- Cooked! I made the first meal in my Hello Fresh Box

- Didn't dwell too much on the fact that I forgot to cancel Box #2; it cost $60; and I now have a Hello Fresh Box and a Blue Apron box arriving this week.

- Woke up early without too much grumbling

- Yesterday I went to game night and stayed the whole time

So now I know Fremont is easy to get to via Bus, and also Capitol Hill via transit.

I was trying to update some transactions on my budget app but I can't figure out whether to categorize my Seattle transactions as Vacation spending or use their default category and tag with Seattle.

The housing I did categorize as Vacation housing because I still want to track the cost of home ownership.

But part of me is curious how much it cost to freely spend while I'm here.  The thing with recategorizing is that I'll have to update every transaction and I really don't want to do that.

Since there is a part of me that wants to live like I live here and would potentially be carrying both budgets, maybe I should just leave them as their default categories and use the tags to extrapolate header categories to keep it simple.

News Flash: having credit cards does make me spend more. If I do continue this summer-bird life, I would like to be able to do it with credit cards. I'll keep the AA card though just for the free bags, and really after the 0% intro rate, I won't have any use for the credit cards. Ok, I guess I don't have anything long-term to really worry about. I forgot about the 0% intro rate.

But yeah without the credit cards, I wouldn't have been able to make these last minute trips because I'm definitely spending future money, and I don't really like it. It's not sustainable for me.

Oh as for my activity level, I think normalizing to like 3 walks a week and/or 3 social activities a week. Not really a goal, just like a level set. Just like a loose structure.

I ate way too much food today.

Well now I'm excited to go re-categorize some transactions.
